I just want to start by saying "Strong" All Female bands have always
been a challenge for me. I have been a musician for over 20 years, I
have seen and played with many female bands in my time. I have to say
that Pretty in Stereo is a strong band. The first track “OCD” got my
attention Lynn’s tough bass and Jodi's drums start you off strong, yes
there’s that word again. That’s why I started with it! If I had a record
label and this came to my desk. I would be getting my lawyers writing
a new contract up! The songs are dynamic, well written and most definitely
executed with strength.
The second track ‘Everything’ makes me think of so many people I have
known in my life “everything is nothing/nothings what I feel about you/nothings
what I’ve gotten from you” I think everyone can relate to that!
If the song” Okay” had a video it would be the one that MTV would play
in a heavy rotation. I feel that Natalie shows her self on this song.
Her vocals are genuine and packed with feeling. The backup harmonies
are a great touch for this song. They have a great break down and beautiful
guitar hooks. This song has been stuck in my head for the past week!
The last track “Fade” is a great close to the CD. Those strong bass
and drums, driving guitars….great vocals…these girls are great! The
quality of the recordings is excellent as well. This is some thrown
together CD. I think these women are going to go a long way. If you
hear they are playing someplace near you, you should go and show your
support!
